Testimonials

Eloise “Weezie” Minard

Resident (6 Months)

“I liked the appearance of Sunnycrest from the beginning. I have the most beautiful room and I decorated it to reflect my personality. The staff is absolutely superb, and I have met many beautiful people here. All the staff is so loving and friendly. You get your room cleaned, meals are well prepared, and you don’t even have to clean the dishes! Wow, it’s great!”

LaVonne Quigley

Resident (8 Years)

“The minute I walked in and saw the gardens, flowers, and trees, I said “This is the place for me”. It was my decision to come. The apartments are wonderful and everyone is so nice and friendly. The staff, from the Administrator to the housekeepers, is so good to us and so kind. Everyone knows you by your first name. The staff is exceptional”.

Mr. And Mrs. Carroll

Residents (5 Years)

“We like the area very much and we like our sunny apartment. We like the activities-bridge, bingo, and music. There are plenty of friendly people here. The staff cooks, cleans, and does the laundry. We still have our own car and get around. We like the personnel, the servers, and the food is great.”

Lorraine Cayer

Resident (7 Years)

“The fact that Sunnycrest is family owned was a big quality in my view. The reception I had here was unusually friendly. I felt comfortable and the location was perfect. I enjoy the various activities-there is something for everyone. If you want privacy, they respect it. I’m happy here and I’m very satisfied.”

Joy Craven

Caregiver (15 Years)

“At Sunnycrest we try to treat everyone like they were our family, with patience, kindness, and respect. There is a warmth here that is hard to describe. Our residents get great care. The main reason I like it so much is that it is family owned. It creates a comfortable feeling for the staff. It doesn’t feel like a corporation; it feels like a family.”

Dorothy Whitehead

Asst. Administrator (18 Years)

“Sunnycrest is so special because of the people. The fact that Sunnycrest is family owned makes all the difference. I want to come to work every morning because it is a warm atmosphere. It is very rewarding to work for the residents. We need to remember that we will all be there too one day. I already have a room picked out for myself!”

Our Mission

Jack Slomovic, founder of Sunnycrest, sees in it the fulfillment of a mission, inspired by his experiences during World War II, to improve the lives of the elderly and preserve families.

Jack’s son David, who now oversees Sunnycrest, is, along with his sister Sharon, equally committed to that mission.

Here, the true meaning of family is brought to life: real people caring for each other the way real families do and coming together as the Sunnycrest family.
